Wedding Bells for World's Heaviest Man

MONTERREY, Northern Mexico. October 26, 2008.

World's fattest man, Mexico's Manuel Uribe, on his way to get married. (AFP Photo) Uribe, 43, had to be carried by a crane on his bed, where he has been confined for years, to the makeshift altar at a venue 30 minutes from his home. Before the diet, he weighed 1,230 pounds.
Uribe, a former mechanic, who hasn't left his bed in six years.
Manuel Uribe the 43 years old tipped the scales in 2006 at 1,230 pounds (560 kilograms), earning him the Guinness Book of World Records' as the world's heaviest man.
He has since shed about 550 pounds (250 kilograms) with the help of Solis, whom he met four years ago.
Uribe said he's gunning for a new title: world's greatest weight loser.
The reception featured a banquet with meat, buttered vegetables and a five-tier wedding cake for dessert.
